Dear All,
On behalf of the Madheshi Association in America (MAA), we would like to express our sincere thanks to all the participants and friends who helped us to make a grand success of the 2nd General Convention of MAA. The theme of the convention was “Strengthening the Madheshi Community and Promoting the Culture”. The convention was held on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 1800 Valley View Ln, Unit 104, Irving, TX 75061, USA.
The convention program was conducted by Mr. Sangit Rauniyar, MAA General Secretary. The Chief Guest of the morning program was Honorable Mayor, Mr. Rick Stopfer, Mayor of the City of Irving, TX.
The Special Guest of the program was Mr. Suneel Sah, President of NRNA NCC USA and founding President of MAA. The Chair of program was Mr. Ram Naresh Pandey, President of MAA and the Convener was Dr. Umesh P. Yadav, President of MAA DFW TX Chapter.
The program commenced with welcoming everyone and followed by the National anthem of the USA and Nepal. The Honorable Chief Guest, Mayor Mr. Stopfer, and Special Guest Mr. Sah inaugurated the convention by lighting candles. After the inauguration, Dr. Yadav addressed the participants with his warm speech and greetings. After that Hon. Mayor extended his best wishes for the program with his wonderful speech emphasizing the significance of diverse Madheshi’s cultural and linguistic identity. The program was followed with an introductory speech and the best wishes of Mr. Sah for the success of the convention. Many guests were from Nepalese community and social organization who participated in the inaugural program. Mr. Krishna Lamichhane, Dr. Arjun Banjade, Mr. Bijay Bhattarai, Mr. Badal Bhujel, and Mr. Krishna Lohani expressed their views on various aspects of Madhesh and Madheshi. The program was continued with the best wishes of community members – Mr. Ram Kumar Mahato, Mr. Sushil Chaudhary, Mr. Ram Krishna Yadav, Mrs. Pinky Yadav, and Mrs. Sima Yadav. After that, constructive suggestions were delivered by the chair of Board of Trustee (BOT), Dr. Binod Shah and member Dr. Mahendra Mahato. Mr. Mukesh Yadav and Mr. Rajesh Yadav who represented on behalf of American Madheshi Samaaj, expressed their feelings and thoughts for the development our community.
Mr. Ram Naresh Pandey, President of MAA, highlighted the achievement and direction of MAA for its purpose while Mr. Satendra Shah, Sr. Vice President of MAA concluded the inauguration program with a thankful speech for all the participants and sponsors.
The program was resumed after a lunch break. Mr. Sangit Rauniyar presented MAA activities which occurred during the term 2018-2021. Surprisingly, a teen speaker, Miss Aditi Ray, could not stop herself to express her note full thanks in her presentation to MAA for launching 10-week Youth Leadership Program last summer. The program preceded with a discussion on By-laws amendment and social interaction, which was hosted by Dr. Mahendra Mahato.
